Deep Cover

I’m hanging out with Laurence Fishburne these days, busting my hump to get my notes in shape for my third draft of Shadow of the Black City. I suppose if I must sacrifice something, it will be some blogging and tweeting long before it will be the writing, especially since I’d like to be getting my query letters out by the end of summer.

I’ll post when I can so I won’t be totally incommunicado, but I’m not going to stress if I don’t get my weekly allotment up.

In the meantime, you all keep it real with Leonard Nimoy kicking out the jams…

  1. Don’t blame you! I’ve cut back on the social networking and do one post a week. If I get time to do more, fine — the novel is the important thing.

Good luck to you and I’ll be watching for your progress.

    1. Thanks! I figure I put enough pressure on myself to produce my writing. There’s no point in compounding it. I’ll be around here and there, just irregularly. My wireless router went belly up about three weeks ago and I have no internet in my writing shack. I’m in no hurry to remedy that! I’ll be keeping up with those blogs I like to follow (helluo librorum, for instance).

    1. Thanks for the kind words. I’ll be excited when I get to that point. Right now I’m outlining things for the 3rd draft. I’m trying to get things nice and tight with no padding. The more stuff I hack off that I don’t need, the more I can give attention to all the good stuff: relationships, setting, subplots and maybe even a little theme.
